Microsoft has a very interesting update for the Zune. Firmware 3.1 will improve make the Zune OS more stable and improve performance and will also bring an update to the new PC software. The more interesting part is the three free new games that comes with the update. These are all popular games: Sudoku, Checkers and Space Battle. Texas Hold’em will get a multiplayer mode and new levels to the single mode. If they include free games to all their updates from now on, it might just improve Zune sales. What do you think?

Free games can’t hurt. I’m updating my Zune(s) as I type this. With WiFi, they should also consider adding apps that gather data from the web. Email is an obviouse one. Local weather and movie listings apps would be great too.
