I guess jailbreaking these days isn’t so challenging anymore that something more groundbreaking needs be done on the iPhone, and apparently, running Linux on Apple’s precious little mobile phone is the next item on the agenda. It’s sill a bit raw, but what you’re looking at folks is the first salvo in the Linux-iPhone front. While the immediate implications of running Linux on the iPhone can hardly be realized, hacking the iPhone to run a different OS definitely opens up the doors for other mobile operating systems such as the Android to take advantage of the iPhone’s hardware. Of course, that will be sometime in the distant future, but considering how well and fast the guys at the iPhone Dev Team work, it might not be a long wait after all.
