We all know that the iPhone/iPod Touch doesn’t come with any tactile feedback and relies purely on eye-and-hand coordination. As such is the case, this set-up completely eliminates any possibility of visually impaired individuals from ever getting a chance to use the said device. However, if this concept design does go into full production, then there might be a glimmer of hope for our visually impaired brethren. This silicon case, aside from protecting Apple’s little precious mobile phone, also doubles as a tactile feedback mechanism that works in tandem with a corresponding iPhone app to make it more user-friendly for the blind. I’m not quite too sure if there’s really a market for this product as one of the biggest selling points of the iPhone is its eye-candy interface and elegant looks which visually-impaired individuals could care less about. Anyway, at least the options is there, right? Kudos to the designer for thinking outside the box and coming out with this truly ingenious design.
