We’ve been pretty happy with ONDA’s VX777 PMP. It has all the basic features we could want from a portable media player and the crisp 3-inch screen isn’t bad either. The new VX777LE version is now in stock at MP4 Global for $89.50 for the 8GB. We like what we see on the review video above. For less than $100, you get big screen and lots of codec support. The new firmware found on the VX777LE is new and an improved chipset gives users a better time navigating the UI, though video viewing hasn’t changed significantly.

I purchased an Onda VX777LE off eBay from a Melbourne seller, just prior to Christmas. It is the 8gb version.

I am very impressed with this player. Onda needs to update their web site, however the product is still very new. The LE version appears to be a better player than just the VX777 as the earlier 777 player uses the JZ (Chinachip) whereas the LE version uses the better Rockwell chipset.

The sound & video quality is excellent. It can also be expanded by a 32gb micro sd card (when they become available). I have just purchased a 8gb class 6 micro sd card giving me a total of 16gb.

16gb cards are available but only in class 2 and a heafty price.
