One of the biggest reasons that unlocked 3G iPhones aren’t selling that cheap in the black market is because of the implementation of in-store activation. Well, things might be headed for a change as AT&T and Apple has brought back at-home activation opening the doors for unlockers to buy online and sell them again for a small profit. Of course, this is only applicable for residents in the US and AT&T, but the bigger question is; is there an unlock tool available for the 3G iPhone? As a result of the in-store activation scheme, the iPhone Dev Team has been focused more on the jailbreak tool and has never released an unlock tool since there was no need for it. Will this latest development initiate work on a new 3G iPhone unlock? That’s what we’ll have to see in the next couple of days.
