While Sony Ericsson has yet to make the XPERIA X1 available across the globe, word is that they’re already considering on hiring Mobinnova to produce their next XPERIA phone in place of HTC, the X1’s manufacturer. There’s no confirmation of this bit of news just yet, but if the Mobinnova ICE is any indication of what we can expect from the company, I’d say that the future of the XPERIA series is in pretty good hands. The ICE is a Windows Mobile 6.1-powered phone that comes with a 3-megapixel camera, WiFi and HSDPA connectivity. It’s pretty standard fare based on today’s current crop of phones, but more importantly, it shows the company has what it takes to come out with a decently featured phone that can live up to the standards of the XPERIA line. Anyway, we won’t put too much into this story as we have yet to get an official announcement from Sony Ericsson if indeed Mobinnova is in and HTC is out as far as their XPERIA series of phone are concerned.
