Because the app store has just too many goodies for the iPod user, so says Techcrunch, Apple will be manufaturing bigger iPods, up to 7 or 9 inches of screen for users to play with.

Prototypes have been seen and handled by one of our sources, and Apple is talking to OEMs in Asia now about mass production.

The tablet-size device will not come cheap, so maybe they’ll add real computing features like word processing and a spread sheet. Who knows.
