I am not sure if Nokia actually sold all the 500,000 5800 XpressMusic or “Tubes” but that is the number of 5800 phones Nokia says it’s shipped in just a month’s. It’s quite an achievement, which only means that the 5800, which is of course Nokia’s only touchscreen phone for now, is the closest thing we have to an iPhone killer. The touchscreen smartphone race, we are happy to see, isn’t over.
Update: Nokia says they have shipped 1 million 5800 Tubes since launch. Also take note that the 5800 XpressMusic has a limited-market release, so indeed an iPhone rival.

I can’t wait to actually see one of these phones. I do remember Apple saying they sold X amount of iPhones but they really meant shipped to stores not actually sold to customers. I guess Nokia is the same.
