Android Phones at MWC: Where are they?

Google Android, Mobile Phone

Apart from the HTC Magic, there hasn’t been much Android phone goodies to cheer about at the Mobile World Congress. So far, only one manufacturer dared to come out with a hardware prototype, but unfortunately, it’s not a working prototype. The Huawei Android phone can easily be mistaken for an iPhone clone thanks to its Apple-like design qualities. However, aside from its aesthetics, there’s really not much to tell about it. Word is that it will feature a custom interface and will be released sometime in Q3 with a yet-to-be known model name, but that’s just about it for now.

There’s also talk of the LG KS360 possibly being as LG’s first Android phone. While neither a denial nor confirmation was made directly by LG, they, however, assured that two other Android phones will be released this year. ZTE is also expected to showcase their Android phone offerings at the MWC though they have yet to fulfill this promise.

With the scarcity of Android phone news coming out of MWC at this point in time, we’re still hoping and keeping our fingers crossed that they’ve just saved the best for the last days of the event.
