The T-Mobile G2 Android smartphone and successor of the T-Mobile G1, has been officially re-dubbed HTC Magic at the MWC ‘09 in Barcelona. HTC Magic is not a bad name but it had better be magical, and since it’s obviously not the official successor of the G2 the addition of Cupcake, shouldn’t be taken as one-upping the original Android. Cupcake after all is just a firmware update complete with bug fixes and some, oh, minor improvements and new features.
Here are some salient specs of the HTC Magic:
- Android (”Cupcake”) OS
- HSPA, GPS, WiFi
- 3.2 megapixel camera
- Storage and other features to be announced
