We haven’t heard from the Motorola camp for quite a while now, but this may be because they’re hard at work on this unknown device. We don’t have know what to call this touchscreen phone at the moment, but from what we can tell based on the leaked image, its got a 5-megapixel Kodak camera with Xenon flash, TV-out and a generous serving of touchscreen real-estate for our fingers to play on. Rumor is that it could very well be Motorola’s first Android phone, but we won’t know this until a video of it running Android pops up or Motorola official announces this baby whichever comes first. Nonetheless, if this photo is indeed legit and real, then let’s give Motorola a round of applause for finally getting back in the game.

It’s questionable whether this phone will ever make it to market (at least in its current form), as Motorola is considering selling off its flagging handset division. Their financial woes are exacerbated by the fact that the company’s weapons manufacturing business (most notably the fuses for the bombs Israel recently used to kill 1300 people in Gaza) has been attracting increased criticism and even boycott calls. I’m all for expanding the selection of Android devices, but I’m personally going to choose from those manufactured by companies not complicit in the bombing of civilian populations.
