Our friends at Dapreview found this one yesterday: a 160GB Archos 705 going for only $269.99 at Amazon.com, or almost half the original pricing. Dapreview has its doubts but after looking at the Amazon page, I have very little reason or none at all to doubt the price is official. Yep, Archos 5th generation prices are going down. Here’s the original price of an 80GB Archos 705.

The 705 is a 7-inch touchscreen full-featured PMP and is the largest 5th generation Archos PMP with optional features that includes GPS, Web TV, Internet Radio and TVPortation. With Archos TV+ it also becomes a wireless DVR.
