For a limited time (until the end of May), iPhone Japan will be free for new Softbank customers. The Softbank iPhone 8GB used to sell for the equivalent of $235 with a contract. The reason is the lukewarm reception of the Japanese.
The Japanese are one of the most well-off people when it comes to mobile technology so it comes as no surprise that the multi-touch charms of the iPhone isn’t really, well, that charming. So with this new offering, will we see more people in Japan fingering iPhones?
