With the unveiling of their Tempo line, it seems that Acer is going full throttle in their new business venture with plans of even launching an app store of their own. Considering that the Apple App Store has proven to be one huge successful business model, it’s not surprising at all that Acer is also planning to come out with one. Of course, unlike RIM (BlackBerry App World) and Apple which both have exclusive operating systems running on their phones, Acer smartphones run on Windows Mobile which already has its own app store, the Windows Mobile Catalog. So what can the Acer app store offer that the Windows Mobile catalog can’t? Anyway, their still in the planning stages so this could either push through or just end up on the drawing table. No need to get overly excited about it for now.
