In this blog, we know a lot of great Chinese products. Unfortunately, we tend to mix them up with bad ones (and not so bad ones) and even really bad ones. We’re sorry about this… well, not really sorry, but once in a while we sight something that makes us feel good about are non-discriminating taste for gadget news. One such example is the TORQUE D100. Filipino reviewer Jayvee got his hands on a unit, which just had a prettey decent outing in its native China, and was very impressed despite the low price: P 3,799 (Philippine) is only about $79 (US). You get a dual-SIM GSM phone with video and audio playback FM, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel phone with video recorder. The most interesting feature for us is the 1.3 MP camera, which seemed to take photos as good as the 2 MP camera on the iPhone. Actually, compared to the E71 in the review, it’s pretty bad, but hey it’s dual-SIM.
Conclusion: if you’re not into state-of-the-art and are content with cheap functional devices, China is the way to go.

How is the sms typing of the Torque D100? Is the messaging friendlier than the
chinaphone? Because with the chinaphone there are other writing inputs you need to
pass through before returning to the english input or multitap abc — very
inconvenient. Hope it is like nokia or sony ericsson’s typing method. Pls reply.

The sms typing of the Torque D100 is also the same with nokia and sony ericson. You don’t need to pass through different languages. I personally can say that this phone is user friendly. Battery of this phone is also good because it can stay long compare to other china phones. I’ve been using Torque D100 for almost 3 weeks now and so far I have no complains to it.
