Also dubbed the “HipTop mini laptop,” the Dee-PC looks nothing like the original netbook from Asus, the EeePC. Besides the 7-inch 800 x 480 LCD, 533Mhz ARM processor, WiFi, 2GB of RAM, the Dee-PC also features, and perhaps more interestingly, Windows CE. I’m hoping this is what Quarta Mobile have in mind regarding CE’s small footprint as a possibly ideal netbook OS. There seems no mention of built-in memory, but the microSD card slot provided supports up to 8GB. The DeePC promises to be a fully functioning PC despite the Windows CE platform, though one advantage of a Windows CE system everyone will like is an instant bootup. Price: $229.99, actually cheaper than the Cuol, the other Windows CE netbook.
Another photo and specs after the break.

That 2 GB? That IS the internal storage. That’s how Windows CE works. Some new phones based on it have a bigger second stage internal storage area but they work like embedded SD cards.

Not all that impressive. How is it that different from the early Asus EEE PC?? I would take Linux over Windows CE any day and the screen resolution is poor. Seems to be a little late to the game!

The instant bootup may be a bigger advantage than meets the eye. I have the HP 2133 and have been cehcking other smaller netbooks. My intention is to have a truly portable, always available, unit to do specialized functions, mainly take notes and write thoughts as they come up. Keeping up with the net and email would be a second purpose. All the hardware out there defeats these purposes because the bootup is so slow; indeed sometimes painfully slow like when updates are available and being automatically downloaded. Surprisingly I find myself using my iPod Touch more and more to satisfy at least 80 or 90 percent of my needs, even short notes. In the meantime the 2133 sits on a shelf (and when I do turn it on it goes for up to an hour updating and diagnosing itself). Because of this I considered the new Fujitsu Lifebook 820. If it had the responsiveness of my iPod Touch I would have bought it in an instant! But it runs on Vista! I don’t need a full function portable when I am in the street. Surprisingly I found myself wondering if Windows CE may not be what the doctor called for, at least until Apple comes out with a netbook with a slightly bigger screen than that of the iPod!

Ya, the CE is kind of like what PDA’s run on… looks like I may be in for this one.

First of all, this is not the price, I have mine for less than $140 with the same configuration. So maybe those guys are not the real manufacturer or they are telling lies. The RAM: 2GB DDR is not correct, this sistem only run 128Mb, 0.128Gb what you put is Ram, is HDD solid state of 2GB and is manufactured by NetColors in China, the model is Ultra Mini NC-702. So please ask what ever people that are trying to cheat some one to correct the information they provide you. Other wise they are messing with your forum credibility.
And by the wey, this tiny laptop is nice, I have mine with windows CE, ony use it on flights and road trips, to check my email, to surf the net, even use my Skype, write some emails too and loof foer the spreadshetts my secretary send me. Is light, battery last a lot (5-6 hours) and is a very god replacement for any smart phone, as I do not know you, but I need a keyboard to write.
Thanks
