SE hasn’t had an interesting announcement since Xperia, which was more air than substance, and the T707 is not likely to get SE back in a competitive form. That’s probably why they’ve hired Maria Sharapova, a beautiful former tennis star, who like Sony Ericsson has been on top before–though not necessarily in the game of tennis. This is a bit of a blow for SE fans, and there are many, that the company has to resort to pure marketing to get its numbers up.

If you’re interested in purcjasing the T707, check out these specs first:

  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSDPA 2100 or, alternatively, the T707a: GSM but UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100
  • GPS with
  • Geo tagging of photos and Google Maps
  • 3.2 MP camera
  • Gesture control
  • FM with RDS
