The Palm Pre will not only offer devoted Palm fan boys a hardware to play enjoy, but more importantly, a completely new operating system that should be more competitive with today’s crop of mobile software. However, some might worry that their old Palm apps won’t be support on this new webOS. Fear no more because it seems the webOS will come with Palm OS emulation to support apps that run on the outdated OS. A “classical” label was discovered in a video demo of the Palm Pre which indicates the availability of this feature. Nonetheless, we’re still a bit wary that this could just be a beta feature and could be removed in the final version. We’ll just have to wait for Palm to release Pre later this year to find out if Palm OS emulation is indeed part of the final package or not.

UPDATE: It’s now confirmed and MotionApps has obtained the rights to develop this feature on the Palm Pre.
