We’ve long awaited the Zune Marketplace’s availability to the rest of the world and it appears a Marketplace update is in the works again, only this time it will give Zune a strong chance to gain commercial foothold.

Arstechnica discovered two job postings from Microsoft. One involves what has already been mentioned…

We’re Zune Services and today we’re selling over five million music tracks, music videos and television episodes to customers across the United States. Moreover, we provide rich reviews on more than twelve million music tracks and biographies on almost a million artists. And we do it all with a small team of very passionate people. However, we need to grow. We have big plans that extend around the world. We have fierce competition. Are you up to the challenge?

Obviously, though the job posting understates the worldwide expansion of Zune Marketplace, and even makes it sound tentative, Microsoft really need not take on more employees if it didn’t have concrete plans, right? Especially in this climate.

The second job posting by Microsoft had something to do with the rumored Zune integration with Xbox 360.

Obviously, the first job posting interests PMP Today more. With worldwide expansion of the Marketplace will also necessarily be followed by better Zune distribution worldwide. Maybe new hardware will be announced too.
