It’s still a far cry from Yellowsnow, QuickPwn or any of the full jailbreak tools available for the iPhone, but the newly released Redsnow 2G iPod Touch jailbreak beta is best thing available now from the iPhone Dev Team if unlocking your 2G iPod Touch is your main concern. A version is available for Windows, Linux and even Mac OS X, but unfortunately, it still runs on a command-line only. So, if you feel threatened using such a primitive interface, we suggest you wait a little bit longer for a GUI-based Redsnow jailbreak to be released. If not, you can always just go ahead and use QuickFreedom. It’s not from the iPhone Dev Team, but if it gets the job done, why wait for the final version of Redsnow to come out?
