Here’s the skinny. Microsoft is tapping ad agencies for a new ad campaign for a product known only as “Pink.” The new campaign needs fresh idea and of course a few agencies, including McCann Erickson, which currently is the agency of choice at Microsoft will fiercely compete. Other sources dug deeper on the report, including ZDnet, and confirmed in unison that it will indeed be Zune software in mobile phones. CNBC says the prototype of a Zune phone will be available as soon as CES 2010 and no later than February at 3GSM.
But why would Microsoft jeopardize Windows Mobile? This Zune software is obviously meant to add multimedia capabilities, especially the capability for wireless media purchases, on smartphones, but why not just integrate that on the old WinMo? An even more interesting rumor: Microsoft will be releasing smartphones with Nvidia Tegra chips. Does this mean mobile gaming?
