MacFormat took first blood on an artist impression of an Apple Netbook a.k.a Media Pad. It’s like a huge iPhone of unknown screen size, and should run the iPhone OS and comes with a dock, optional keyboard and a touchpad that is the approximate size of the current iPhone. It’s a home directory, computer, 3G and Bluetooth device or at least four devices rolled into one. That’s at least one more device more than the original iPhone. Alas, no optical drive. Another groundbreaking design from Apple.
Another photo after the break.

I would definitely buy one of these if they existed. I use my iPod touch in business all the time while at conferences for email and web surfing (my Netbook) and have often wished the format was a bit larger. Bigger screen means more power which of course means bigger battery and more weight. I would put up with the more weight. I already run Windows apps on my iPod using a Citrix client. One of these devices and a rollup keyboard would mean I never take a normal laptop on the road again.

Hey folks this looks like a very exciting product. If this is released with WiFi and EVDO connectivity, email and web support, Bluetooth and USB v2 support, and lets add 8GB SD card slot, and viewing capability to view most of the HD Video formats for movie viewing, eBook viewing software for all the eBook formats presently out there.. all day battery capacity like at least 10-12 hours of continuous usage, so that recharging can be done in the evenings, rather than needing mid-day access to power and the charger (or make battery user changeable with spare batteries). Photo-viewing for all common file formats; Business file reading including PDF file reading and work-processing files, Spread sheet XL file reading…
With this capability, sign me up, and I’ll be on line waiting for delivery…
Lets see of they can keep this devise under $1000.
If it has limited computing power fine but, I’d rather not have the device so expensive and slow, in exchange for having too many capabilities… lets save this computing power for our laptops, and not make this device a lap-top replacement… JimW

Are you joking? Lol. It’s absolutely absurd. Just because it’s shiny and has an apple on it, doesn’t mean you need to run out and buy it. So sad.

It sure would be pretty cool if you can video conference with the tablet over a cell phone network or wireless connection. Steve Jobs, please oh please include a camera on the tablet!!!
If the tablet does end up looking exactly like the concept drawing above, I’m a guaranteed buyer. If it’s something like those on other rumor blogs, I’m turned off by the idea. I love the idea of having a spacious keyboard and dock station. I can definitely see myself undocking for a trip to a coffee shop and docking at home to type out powerpoint presentations.
