What a brilliant idea. Microsoft will not have to rely on well-meaning developers to make interesting content for the Zune Marketplace, they can pay for it and get exactly what they want and what they think customers want. A preview of the the exclusive Zune cartoon series can be found here. Looks O.K. but any original content is welcome in the Zune for me. According to Microsoft, Zune will not only enjoy the cartoon comedy series City Council 3050 but others as well, which are still in development.

“City Council 3050 AD,” an original comedy conceived by Worktank, is based on local government C-SPAN channels that broadcast the mundane proceedings of city business. The show, set in the future, uses this dry backdrop to offer humor and absurdity, taking modern local and national political issues and recasting them in the future.

Made by Worktank, an ad agency, here’s some oddball characters for you:

Worktank has developed a group of irreverent characters for “City Council 3050 AD,” including Mrs. Beverly Dravus, Council President; Lady Vorraxia, the Mystical Green Alien Treasurer; and Zone Monitor Unit 1036, a Cylindrical Robot Councilman.
I guess irreverence is still in.
