iPhone SlingPlayer Mobile app hitting App Store soon, WiFi only for $29.99

SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone app

We’ve got good news and bad news for you folks out there waiting for the SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone to become available. The good news is that yes, it will finally become available in the App Store so you can rest easy now. It will also apparently work with all Slingbox models, but they won’t officially support it if in any case you encounter problems with older models. The bad news is that it won’t be cheap. It’ll retail for $29.99 once it hits the App Store, and another drawback is that it’ll only work via WiFi. Sad to say, no 3G support here baby. It’s such a shame considering how this app had what it takes to become a potential hit. Of course, those of you addicted to your Slingbox probably wouldn’t mind shelling out $29.99 for this iPhone app albeit being limited to WiFi only, but for the rest of us, it’s seems a bit unreasonable to demand such a high price for a very limited app. How about you guys? Are you willing to pay close to $30 for this new SlingPlayer Mobile app for the iPhone once it’s released?

This is a major draw back for everyone excep AT&T.

I can assure 100%, the sales will drop by adleast 80% due to no 3g support.

The hole idea about slingplayer is to have tv on the go and at mobile locations. and this way we are limited to where we can use it.
