Now here’s a Nokia phone you don’t see everyday. The Nokia Mako is a QWERTY-equipped slider that features a 2.6-inch 320×420 TFT display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, A-GPS, HSDPA connectivity, 128MB internal memory, and runs on S60 3rd edition FP 2 OS. We’re not quite sure how this new design and form factor will appeal to the public, but nonetheless, this just goes to show that Nokia isn’t content with just sticking to the norm. It’s headed for an AT&T release and is slated to be out by June 5. However, with very little information to work on apart from this leaked slide, we won’t be surprised if it gets pushed to a later date.

More phones after the break.

Meanwhile, the Nokia Thresher is a slider that comes with a 2.4-inch 240×320 16M color TFT display, 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and full focus, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, optical joystick, 140MB internal memory, and microSD card support. It runs on the S40 OS and is expected to hit the market on September 18.

The Nokia Grouper, on the other hand, is another S40-based phone but offers it up in a clamshell package. Looking more like a Motorola rather than a Nokia, this new music optimized clamshell comes with an external 1.36-inch 128×160 hidden display 2.2-inch 240×320 16M QVGA internal display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, A-GPS, 2.5 mm headphone jack, 70MB internal memory and microSD card support. Release date is listed as July 31st.

Last, but certainly not the least, the Nokia Snapper is another flip phone that’s also music optimized. It features almost identical specs with the Grouper albeit looking a lot more like your typical Nokia phone and having a smaller 2-inch 240×320 16M color TFT as display as opposed to the former. This one’s scheduled to hit the market in August.
It looks like AT&T’s got a bevy of Nokia phones just waiting to be unleashed in the US market. Add to this list the recently outed HTC Lancaster Android phone, AT&T’s definitely got a new phone to offer each segment of the market.
