After the iRiver B30, it’s time for the iRiver E200 to come out for its own photo-op. The disappointing feature is the design, which doesn’t stray at all from the E100 design. The buttons are now touch-sensitive hardware, instead of the clunky old directional pad. The screen has also been increased to 2.8 inches. It plays RMVB, MPEG-4 SP, WMV9 SP, XVID SP and MP3, WMA, OGG, and FLAC. More specs at Dapreview. No pricing or availability yet.

[...] iriver E200 lands in the wild, might not have been worth the wait Sure, we know that whenever we hear the word “aluminum” we’re supposed to go all weak in the knees, but iriver hasn’t really astounded us with this materials-tweaked rehash of the E100. Still, the OLED screen on the upcoming E200 has been bumped to 2.8-inches, so that’s kind of nice, and while the capacitive touch buttons aren’t a big win over the original rocker, at least the chassis seems thinner now. Check out the read link for some purported press shots that manage to be quite a bit more flattering. [Via PMP Today] [...]
