Pinch Media should be a reliable enough source when predicting a new iPod Touch. There has been activity, according to them, on the “iPod 3,1″ model. They used the same analytics to predict iPhone 3G S upon detecting iPhone 2,1 activity.
Now, we’ve been noticing an “iPod 3,1″ string appearing in our version reporting, signifying what we believe to be a new yet-to-be-released version of the iPod Touch.
The testers have been targetting the most popular apps. The bets are on September or October launch, but late July is not too farfetched, but it’s probably going to be later for the new Apple touchscreen PMP.
