If you thought Samsung was going to take LG’s release of a mobile phone watch lightly, you’re greatly mistaken. Rivaling the LG GD910, Samsung has just announced and unveiled their watch phone offering, the S9110. Measuring a mere 11.98mm thick, this new product from Samsung is currently the world’s thinnest mobile phone watch. Aide from its ultra-slim form factor, it also features a 1.76-inch scratch-resistant touchscreen display, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, music player, voice recognition, and email support. Its body is made of stainless steel while its strap is made out of leather.

Unlike the LG GD910, the Samsung S9110 doesn’t come with HSDPA connectivity, but it does, however, come with a more affordable price tag, €450 or US$640 to be exact. It will be made available in France first starting this month with other countries getting theirs soon.
So I guess Samsung’s battle plan is if you can’t beat them in specs, might as well go with price and style points. It might not be the most ideal way to go about things, but hey, it’s the most logical approach, and come to think of it, they might actually be successful with it and beat LG in the mobile phone watch game.
