It seems that AT&T is now desperate to move their remaining iPhone 3G stock out the door as they’ve just slashed an additional $30 off the already lowered retail price of refurb iPhone 3G units. So now, the going rate for a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G is at an all-time low of just $49 and $99 for the 16GB variant. Granted that you can get a decent amount of the new features found on the new iPhone 3G S on the old iPhone 3G courtesy of the iPhone 3.0 firmware, you still can’t really enjoy all the benefits since a lot of the good stuff rely on the improved hardware loaded on the latest version of the iPhone. Of course, savings is still savings so the question remains, is the new iPhone 3G S worth it? We think so, but how about you guys? Given the new lowered price of refurb iPhone 3G units, will you still go for the iPhone 3G S or not?

AT&T is desparate, and they should be after making so many bad business decisions. It’s finally caught up with them at the federal level, and the U.S government is working to cut it’s contract with iPhone so that more competition and creativity can occur.
