It’s also official that Singapore’s Creative is back with a vengeance. Let me just say this on the get-go. As a manufacturer, Creative is wiser than Meizu, waiting until it has a product ready for launch before leaking anything. The Creative Zii Egg is a definite iPod Touch competitor with goodies like WiFi, capacitive 10-point multi-gesture touchscreen, dual camera (one being an HD video recorder), GPS and up to 32GB of memory. Inside is the soon-to-be-famous Zii StemCell platform dubbed Zii Plaszma, which is an Android OS in combo with Creative’s Zii chip. The Creative Zii could could be sold for as low as $199. The Plasza is being sold to manufacturers as an OS, SDK kit and hardware.
Creative hasn’t officially packaged the Zii PMP for retail, so we might see a different-looking hardware when it comes out. Right this moment, though, we are reeling with

Yawn. Why just clone the iPhone industrial design? Why would anyone choose this over an iPhone?
There is plenty of room for greatly improving Web access on all these devices.
As much as I love the iPhone, I’m sick of all the zooming and scrolling and
waiting when using the Web on it — It’s not even close to being as useful
as the Web in Firefox on my Mac. Why doesn’t someone attach THAT problem,
instead of just trying to play catch up to what Apple released two years ago?

Why would anyone pick this over an iPhone indeed. Me! As an iPhone user, i’ve had so many problems with it - dropped calls, poor call quality, failure of call connecting, Mass-sending any message automatically converts it to MMS despite it being only text, OS rebooting on its own, iPhone heating up to unreasonable temperatures, poor stereo quality, lack of bass in playback, laggy when you store 8gb of apps… the list is exhaustive!
As a VERY ANNOYED,DISGRUNTLED, DISGUSTED BLAH BLAH BLAH iPhone user, i’m ready to throw in the towel. And i have attracted so many stares simply because my gorgeous iPhone REFUSED to work when i need it to! So yeah. I’ve been actively passing my iPhone around to allow others to enjoy the DISSATISFACTION so there are a bunch of us who will happily trump an iPhone for something that has all its functionality minus the vices.
