The newest tech blog in town–gdgt–was having a launch party when a ZuneHD model unit was brought out for everyone to gawk over. As good as the ZuneHD sounds on paper, it’s even better handled. The video below shows the media-centered PMP doing what PMPs do best: play multimedia and a managing multimedia content. ZuneHD is hands-down the best PMP of the year, so far. Move over COWON S9.

What do you have against the iPod touch? Let’s see… if the ZuneHD is your PMP of the year so far, then let’s compare it to the iPod touch:
-It *does* do HD output, but overall, the screen has a lowerr resolution.
-No App Store
-It’s not AS customizeable (I’m assuming) as the iPod touch (e.g. you can’t move icons around or clip a webpage)
-The web browser is pretty good, but according to CNet, it’s not as good as Mobile Safari
-Lack of built in maps, calculator, YouTube, and/or a calendar
I actually hated Apple products, until I got the 1st-gen iPod touch for Christmas. Now I can’t live without it!*
