The iPhone and iPod Touch are almost identical if not for the latter’s inability to make calls, lack of Bluetooth (1G iPod Touch), and missing camera. Well, that’s about to change based on this leaked image of what could be the 3rd generation iPod Touch.
It seems that Apple has decided to arm the new iPod Touch with a camera making it inch a little closer as far as specs go to its iPhone cousin. For those skeptic of this news and the leaked image, that’s a hi-resolution snapshot you’re looking at above that clearly shows that no manipulation was done to it which is the point of contention in another leaked image.

On a similar note, remember that music industry collaboration we mentioned as part of the Apple Tablet news we reported last month? It’s now called Cocktail and will supposedly provide users with a more interactive user experience, and more importantly, is expected announced in September according to several music industry insiders.
Pretty interesting stuff so far, but all of these are still unconfirmed and a rumor as far as we’re concerned. So for now, let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that these all get officially announced next month.

I am pretty sure the next ipod touch will have a camera, but I am not buying the camera look on this picture. The fact that the camera is dead center of the back of the ipod…it doesn’t look sleek and “apple-ish”. I could be wrong…but the look in my opinion is horrible when the camera is in the center. It doesn’t look “fluid” and “organic” like all the other apple products.
