iPhone Qik app update removes WiFi restriction

Apple iPhone, iPhone Applications

qik-3gQik was one of the first few apps for the iPhone 3G that allowed you to stream videos back in the day when jailbreaking was the hottest thing in town. Since then, Qik has been legally available at the App Store, but was, for the most part, crippled due to the lack of streaming capabilities and WiFi-only restriction when it comes to uploading of videos. Well, that’s about to change as Qik has just released an update for their existing app. The latest version of Qik for the iPhone is now available, and finally, it includes 3G support. Unfortunately, that’s the most notable improvement. Streaming, sad to say, is still not available yet and so is viewing comments as well. Needless to say, it’s still crippled. Oh well, let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that these features will soon be available someday for the iPhone.
