HTC has just announced a new handset to bolster their already solid Android line-up and will, no doubt, also help drive up their sales at the same time. The HTC Tattoo, formerly known as the Click, is a more compact version of the HTC Magic, but more importantly, also aims to bring the Android platform down to the masses with a more affordable price tag.

How affordable we don’t exactly know for sure right now, but as far as features go, the good news is that they’re not being holding back in this department as well.

More after the break.

The HTC Tattoo will come with a WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, quad-band GSM/EDGE, 900/2100MHz HSPA/UMTS connectivity, GPS, accelerometer, 3.5mm jack, microSD card slot, 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, and will run on a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor backed by 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. The HTC Tattoo will also come loaded with the new Sense UI, and users will also be able either design their own or select from HTC’s collection of covers allowing then to further customize the Tattoo to their liking.
Its biggest caveat is its 2.8-inch 240×320 QVGA LCD resistive touchscreen display, but if it retails for less than $300, I’m sure people wouldn’t mind that slight drawback. The HTC Tattoo will begin in early October in Europe with select markets around the global to follow.
