Big Apple announcement coming today, but before that here’s some very good news:
See it? Whatever Apple is announcing today better be amazing. The iPod Touch is now cheap. You heard it. It’s -$40 for the 8GB, -$50 for the 16GB and a whopping -$120 for the 32GB. The iPod Nano prices have also gone down starting at $129. What are you waiting for, head on to the Apple Store.

They obviously feel threatened against the new awesome zune HD. They know the Zune HD is better.

I agree with Jorvette. They are probably hoping that people will see that the iPod Touch is cheaper than the Zune HD (by a mere $10.99) and decide to buy that instead, even though the Zune HD has a lot more to offer for practically the same price.
Also, dropping the price of the 32 GB iPod Touch by $120 just shows that they are pretty much acknowledging that they have been cheating people out of more than $100.

Although it’s great to see that Apple has finally realized that their Touch prices were way too expensive, I feel that it’s too little too late. As others have mentioned, the ZuneHD is a week away from release and offers more options for a similar (or, in the case of the 16GB, a smaller) price. The legacy Touch has no OLED screen and no HD Radio (or any radio, for that matter).
Their only real advantage is their App Store, but that might erode very quickly, depending on what MS has planned.
