Wow, as if losing a bazillion songs is not tragic enough, Apple has decided to double the highest capacity iPod Touch to a whopping 64GB. It’s a new iPod Touch model (iPod Touch 3G), too, ehem, sporting the same look but with a new CPU (same as in the iPhone 3G S). There’s no camera and the unusually priced new iPod Touches puts the 32GB only $100 more than the 8GB. There’s no sign of the 16GB. Really strange, because the old iPod Touch model is much cheaper with slight disadvantage in the CPU, but not a bigie.
Read on for a photo at the event via Engadget.
From Apple press release:
iPod touch features up to 30 hours of music playback or six hours of video playback on a single charge. The 8GB model holds up to 1,750 songs, 10,000 photos and 10 hours of video; the 32GB model holds up to 7,000 songs, 40,000 photos or 40 hours of video; and the 64GB model holds up to 14,000 songs, 90,000 photos or 80 hours of video.* The 32GB and 64GB models also include up to 50 percent faster performance and support for even better graphics with Open GL ES 2.0.

i wish this was in 16gb form and it being jailbreakable. mostly the jailbreak part because i can live with 8gb but it will benefit also from the extra horsepower that the new ipod touch has.
