Here’s some good news for you jailbreaking aficionados out there. The iPhone Dev Team has just released iPhone 3.1 jailbreak(PwnageTool 3.1) for everyone’s jailbreaking pleasure. Well, not quite everyone. The not-so-good news is that PwnageTool 3.1 doesn’t work on new 3G iPod Touch and the iPhone 3G S. You’ll have to wait for a new version of redsn0w for those models which should be released sometime in the near future.
The other limitation here is that this version only works with the Mac OS X platform. No Windows version just yet. Admittedly, this latest jailbreak might not be able to please everyone, but this should suffice for a number of you readers out there who haven’t upgraded to the latest iPhone and can’t wait to upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.

Why do the dev team ALWAYS bring out jailbreaking 4 mac users first when 90% of ppl have a windows computes/system
they should bring them out at the same time.and does anyone know whether a benM type of tethering hack can be made for 3.1 as I upgraded without thinking like an idiot.

Uhh as far as I can see none of you are coming up with a solution any faster than the Dev Team. You aren’t doing the work so stop complaining like little girls. Ohh and to answer your questions about why they always come out with Mac software first. It’s because if you haven’t noticed the I-Pod and the I-Phone are both Mac products. It’s way faster and easier to write software for the I-Pod on the OS it was designed on.
