720p to 1080i support for PMPs is suddenly de riguer for portable media player manufacturers, especially those in China. Dutch electronics giant Philips thinks it can do well in the most populated country in the world. The Philips SA075 will support 720p videos and will be equipped with the useful HDMI output. It’s a touchscreen PMP of an undetermined 24 bit 16-million-color screen with 800 x 480 pixels. No price or date of availability yet.
