In the US, at least, Best Buy will distribute the Nokia Booklet 3G exclusively at a much reduced price than earlier expected. The $599.99 is still a little pricier than other netbooks with similar specs, but we at PMP Today think it’s much better than $799, cloudbook or not.
One way or another, it’s a tough sell for a retailer like Best Buy. Nokia isn’t as popular in the U.S. as it is elsewhere. The Nokia Booklet 3G also strikes me as a product that will do better with a contract and a subsidy from a wireless carrier. Hopefully, a carrier deal will be announced in the future.
Specs of the Nokia Booklet 3G:
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 1280 x 720 (HD)
- OS: Windows 7
- WiFi, 3G/ HSPA, SIM card
- Bluetooth, built-in A-GPS
- accelerometer
- OVI Maps service
