The PSP Go clone above may get you in hot water at Sony, but between just you and me, I think I’d prefer the $84 PXP-2000 over the $250 PSP Go.
But you’re thinking, for that amount of money, surely I won’t be getting too much. You’d be wrong. For one thing, besides supporting an entire army of the most popular video codecs (RM, RMVB natively, AVI, WMV, ASF, MPG, MPEG, MPE, MP4, DAT, MOV, DAT), it’s also an NES emulator, besides supporting Gameboy and SFC. It also takes microSD cards, so no worries about lack of storage memory. Hey, it’s no iPhone but at least it’s cheap and just as usable as Sony’s offering. Check out the details at the linky.

Why would you go out and buy a product that can’t use the service that you want it for. The point of the PSP and PSPgo is so you can play Sony’s games on them. When you can’t do that, then really folks what is the point. And it seems like this writer has a bug up his but about the PSPgo. I think it’s cool. I will be getting one soon. And by the way I already have a PSP 3000.
By the way, some things this can’t do:
Play PSP games
Play PS1 games
Remote play with PS3
Be used as a controller with the PS3
I really don’t think I need to continue.

I don’t think this is about “replacing the PSPGo” or even being a cheaper alternative. This things is a damn portable NES,SNES,Gameboy, SFC, and MD Rom games emulator. It also will play music and videos and accepts SD cards for expansion on top of already have a 4GB internal memory. This isn’t as much about being a knock-off or a cheap alternative at all, though I wish they hadn’t used the popular PSP look just to get extra attention. This is a PMP toy for those of us who love to play roms and tinker with portable music and video playing without spending a huge amount of cash. Who cares if it doesn’t play PSP games? That’s not the point. It’s affordable and it’s going to be a blast to play with. Don’t down-play this thing for the wrong reasons just because you don’t understand it.

true. this emmulator is a good bang for the buck. nice value for 4 gigs, camera and functionality. game console makers should get more competitive with pricing of consoles, let them make money off of games. since this plays nes roms though it seems like a win win solution to those in this current economy.

It’s just a PMP with plenty of features in a PSPGo design. As a PMP it’s a really good buy. But if you want to play PSP games buy a PSP. I recently found out that some poeple are trying to install actual PSP games on PXP-900 (PSP-2000 look alike). Which was dumb.
