Following the release of blackra1n, the iPhone Dev Team has announced the availability of PwnageTool 3.1.4 or otherwise known as their iPhone 3.1.2 jailbreak offering. It supports all previous versions of the iPhone as well as the latest iPhone 3G S. 3G iPod Touch owners are out of luck though as it’s still not compatible with this new jailbreak. They do have some new reminders though for you jailbreakers out there.
If you’ve already jailbroken either your new iPhone or iPod Touch, they recommend to just restore to a custom IPSW file instead of using DFU mode. Likewise, those enjoying internet tethering on a carrier that doesn’t support it are advised to stick with firmware 3.0 since upgrading will void this feature. As for those of you who ran blackra1n and have encountered problems with winterboard, diskaid, ifunbox, and mobilesubstrate, installing a custom IPSW file created by PwnageTool should fix these issues.
As usual, this PwnageTool is only available for the Mac OS X. Windows users will just have to content themselves with blackra1n or you can ask their Mac using jailbreaking buddies for a custom IPSW file which you can use to restore their iPhone/iPod Touch to. And no, we highly doubt this will work on the new iPhone 3G S bootrom.

Ok why not for the Windows folks? Was there a problem in creating the unlock version for iphone users with the Windows? So, if I need to unlock 3.1.2 iphone, the only way to do so is with MAC. JEEEZZZ! What are the other options. I need phone for more than internet purposes. It is the primary line! please advise.
