Shanzai products are becoming cooler and cooler every time we post about them. boeye, a totally unknown manufacturer to us, has an e-Book dubbed E510. This is the cutest e-Book we’ve seen so far. The Boeye E510 supports a totally legit 16 grayscale level for an e-Book. It has a 5.0-inch 800×600 E-ink display, which is about twice as large as the phone I use to read e-books. It uses the 00Mhz Samsung 2416 CPU and a mini-USB for data transmission.
Other specs: Linux OS, music playback (MP3, WMA, WAV), photo viewer, optional FM tuner, card slot and document support for txt, pdf, doc, html, fb2, epub, pdb, chm, rtf, djvu, dvi, ps with zoom out and in. No pricing has been announced. It’s available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB versions. A good alternative for the Amazon Kindle? Assuming it will come at a very affordable price, I would say so.
