Teclast T51 is an Audiophile Quality 1080p PMP?

teclast-t51-audiophileWe’re not entirely sure what Teclast means by the T51 being an audiophile’s PMP. We’ve always assumed every PMP maker makes sound quality one of the top priorities. But here goes Teclast claiming the T51 should appeal better to real audiophiles than other PMPs in the market (should we call the T51 an mp3 player plus video?). To be more specific, Wolfson audio chips are now becoming legends as a cheap solution for better sound quality. Hopefully, the Wolfson WM8740 inside the T51 proves will do well.

On top of everything mentioned, the T51 supports 1080p HD videos. The 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen supports 480 x 360 resolution, so I suppose the T51 is not exactly a videophile’s PMP, though there’s always HDMI out. It can play an army of video and music codecs, too, which is one of the reasons we are always considering these Chinese MP4 players. The other reason is price: for an 8GB 1080p HDMI out player with a spanking wolfson chip, you will only have to shell out $155. Not exactly cheap, but it’s damn reasonable.

They missed soemthing very intressting about this player.
The player have DUAL DAC Wolfson WM8740, one for each channel (L/R) to minimise
    any disturbance in sound quality.

This player also have a dedicated line out. The reviews on this baby says it cant
compete with players like HIFIman’s HM801 but then you have to rember this player
comes at 1/4th the rice. In the price range it seems to be undisputed.

[...] quite a chunky, brick-lick device. The screen is bigger than iPhone’s at 4.3 inches. With the Teclast T51, you get a device focusing more on music and video. Even the game support is quite anemic. Ownta is [...]
