Telus has just announced that they’ll be ready to release their iPhone by November 5th giving erstwhile exclusive carrier Rogers some needed competition in Canada.

Telus’ 3-year contract price for the iPhone is just the same as Rogers: $99.99 for the iPhone 3G 8GB, $199.99 for the iPhone 3G S 16GB, and $299.99 for the iPhone 3G S 32GB. Their outright purchase price is actually even higher at $599.99, $699.99, and $799.99 for the iPhone 3G 8GB, iPhone 3G S 16GB, and iPhone 3GS 32GB respectively nearly $20 more expensive that what Rogers has. As such is the case, price will hardly be an issue when it comes to enticing customers and it will all boil down to the services they can provide iPhone users.
Yeah, it’s disappointing to see that it’s not priced a little more competitively, but hey, we’ve yet to hear from Bell so there might still be hope (emphasis on hope as our gut’s telling us this is highly unlikely) to see a slightly more affordable iPhone hit the market.
