Confirming everything we’ve already reported in the past, Verizon, together with HTC, has just announced the HTC Droid Eris, the new sibling of the Motorola Droid. It will indeed be released available beginning tomorrow, November 6, for $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate is applied on a new 2-year contract bundled with an email feature or plan. For those who weren’t able to keep track of our Droid Eris posts, this new sibling of the Droid comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel autofocus camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm jack, trackball interface, HTC Sense, and ships pre-installed with an 8GB microSD card. They didn’t specifically mention what Android OS it’s based on, but a bunch of leaked documents suggest that it’s Android 1.5 running on this baby. So, now that it’s official, will you be getting an HTC Droid Eris Android phone soon?
