Palm has just released webOS 1.3.1 update for the Palm Pre, but unlike their webOS 1.2.1, doesn’t come with a fix to address the Apple disabled iTunes syncing. Have they given up the fight? We don’t exactly know, but what we’re certain of is that webOS 1.3.1 does come with a lot of goodies in the bag. With this latest webOS firmware installed on your Palm Pre, you can now sync Yahoo! contacts and calendar in Synergy, watch widescreen videos in widescreen mode by default, forward and copy SMS/MMS, use ringtones for new message alerts, and a bunch of other treats and bug fixes. Sure, the lack of iTunes syncing maybe a bit of a downer, but from what’s been disclosed, it’s look like a pretty loaded firmware update that every Palm Pre owner out there should definitely download.

The Palm Pre SUCKS! I bought my first one on August 29th…and I’m not on my third one. I will NEVER own another piece of crap from Palm again! And I’m telling everyone I know not to spend their time/money. Mine keeps breaking. Also can’t get the complete Facebook page to load; keep getting sent to the “Palm” version…which naturally sucks and never works correctly. Can’t wait for another year to pass so I can buy a better phone. Palm Pre SUCKS!!!

For a brand new OS, the Pre is great. I had originally feared getting such a immature OS, but have been very happy. So far (knock on wood) the upgrades have gone smoothly and the changes have been relatively painless. I’m sorry Keystone is not happy, but glad this is an exception - there are lots of us happy Pre owners out here!
