Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook had better watch out. Though it will be a Taiwan-only release, we feel that the BenQ nReader K60 is quite the looker. If it becomes successful in Taiwan, we certainly won’t mind looking out for a worldwide release for this 3G- and WiFi-connected electronic ink reader. The nReader K60 also has something very special in store for users: Japanese comics. If I’m not mistaken, this is called Manga. Over a million eBooks will be available in the nReader eBook store in English, Japanese and Chinese (they don’t ever specify which Chinese languages are supported in these press releases). The K60 has a 6-inch 800×600 Sipix e-paper touchscreen. The 3.5G connectivity, besides the WiFi, sounds awesome for downloaders of very thick, image-heavy eBooks. Other features: USB 2.0, microSD slot. 3.5 audio jack (MP3 player is included). Look below this post, there’s also a landscape mode.
Compare the nReader K60 with the Kindle and the Nook.
