Emblaze ELSE INTUITION is the new upstart in the Mobile OS wars

Wed, Nov 25, 2009

Firmware, Mobile Phone, Software

The Emblaze First Else ALP 3.0 will inevitably be compared to the iPhone, and with its decent spec sheet, it can actually hold its own against the Apple mobile phone. More importantly though, the Emblaze First Else brings along with it a completely new OS aptly called ELSE INTUITION which is a fresh alternative from Windows Mobile, Symbian, the mobile Mac OS X, Android, and the other platforms that are out now for touchscreen devices. It’s got a minimalist approach to it opting to ditch the traditional graphic icons for simple text, but still manages to pull it off in a very appealing visual interface and design.

Unfortunately, based on the video walkthrough above, ELSE INTUITION looks to heavily favor right-handed individuals a bit too much and might not be as easy to use for left-handed folks. Nonetheless, we still can’t help but be impressed with what they have right now and its potential down the road. How about you guys? What are your thoughts on the new Emblaze First Else ALP 3.0 and its new Linux-based ELSE INTUITION operating system?

It’s not only about how it looks, and it’s not only about the new UI, check out their website http://www.firstelse.com, there are a lot of awesome features. Just to mention one of them: “contextual reminder”, you can command the reminder to remind you when someone calls, when you arrive at/leave a certain place, and of course at a specific time.
I am right-handed, my question is: is really that hard for the lefties to work with their right hand?

I my self am left handed, and I find myself adapting quickly to using my right hand when it comes to a device that I really really want. I definitely think that ELSE is one of these devices. it might work for everyone if they only try, it’s not that difficult..

So the rumors that it may be not easy to left-handed people is not true. Could somebody tell me if it’s really true? Because I’m one of one of their representatives? :) thanks in advance

Think about it for a sec… Technically it wouldn’t matter which side the UI works from… I’m betting you can flip the UI over to whichever side suits you best…
