Another game-changer? Emblaze hopes so. Running on Access Linux Platform (ALP) 3.0, which if I had guessed correctly is a cousin of Nokia’s Maemo. What Emblaze intends in their First Else phone is a mobile experience that is the most intuitive yet. This is the Else Intuition OS. Eldad Eilam, the Emblaze CTO, is obviously confident of what they have: “Android’s a game-changer… [but] people need to consider that Android doesn’t bring good user experience. Most have failed. The Droid is improving, has a great infrastructure but they treat Android as just a component.”
On the hardware side, the First Else (hopefully there’ll be a Second Else), has the TI OMAP 3430 processor made famous by all the famous phones in the market today like the iPhone 3GS, Droid and Palm Pre. It has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen which supports a 854 x 480 resolution. It doesn’t exactly support HD viewing but the 480p videos at 30fps is more than enough considering the screen size. A multiedia phone, eh? What about the UI? Well, it’s quite amazing at the first impression. The fanlike menu is more intuitive than anything outh there. To put it briefly: one-hand navigation is back.
Other features include a 5MP camera, amazing OLED indicator lights, WiFi, HSDPA, Bluetooth and a 1450mAh battery. Availability and price still unknown. Read on for the videos.

Looks really nice. Clean & responsive with a well thought-out UI. I have the Android G1 and admit that it’s not the best phone.
The only thing that I see as a ‘problem’ is that even though I’m a rightie I more often use my left hand to use my phone. Even though the buttons on this are on the right, an option to set the UI to have a leftie option would be good.
