The Lenovo Ophone may be out and about in China, but unfortunately, while it may carry the Lenovo name, the renowned PC maker won’t be earning a single cent from its sale in the Asian country. This is because Lenovo sold their mobile handset division last year so they’re official no longer part of the mobile phone industry. However, that will probably soon change as they’ve just announced that they’re planning to buy back what they sold off last year by enticing them with $200 million in cash and some stocks to boot. If this pushes through, then the Lenovo touchscreen phone might also break free from the Chinese market similar to the Dell Mini 3 and hit the international scene as well. We’re probably getting too far ahead of ourselves, but you’ve got to admit, this is a pretty interesting and exciting prospect.
